Privacy policy

Effective September 26, 2026. This page describes the current RoadMirror Android test app, unreleased iOS capture prototype, account service, support form, and this website. Paid features and an iOS app are not publicly available.

Screen sharing

After you grant Android's screen-capture permission, RoadMirror displays the visible phone screen on the connected Android Auto display. This can include other apps, messages, and notifications. People who can see the car display can see that content. RoadMirror does not upload captured frames to a RoadMirror server or store a screen recording. You can stop sharing in the app or its active notification.

Unreleased iOS capture prototype

With your system permission, the iOS prototype uses ReplayKit to record up to 15 seconds of RoadMirror's own visible interface as an MP4 in the app's temporary storage so you can test video playback routing. It does not capture other apps. The recording is not uploaded to a RoadMirror server. You can delete it in the app; the app also removes its temporary clips when it next launches. If you select an external playback destination, people who can see that display may see the clip. The prototype does not provide live CarPlay screen mirroring.

Optional account

You can mirror without an account. If you create one, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, password credential, account ID, and verification state to sign you in. RoadMirror stores only that account ID, a schema version, and an account-creation timestamp in Cloud Firestore. Your password is not stored in the RoadMirror Firestore profile. Google provides these Firebase services; see Firebase privacy and security.

Feedback and diagnostics

The feedback button opens a Google Form. We receive the text and any details you choose to enter there. The app does not automatically attach a screenshot, device details, or diagnostic logs. The form does not automatically link a response to your RoadMirror account. Android crash diagnostics may be written to the app's local files; the debug screen can export device logs only when you choose a file destination. The app does not automatically send those files to us. Logs may contain information from other apps, so inspect them before sharing.

Storage and deletion

Your Firebase account and its minimal profile remain until you delete the account. You can delete them in the app or at the account-deletion page. Firebase may retain deleted authentication data in backups for a limited period described in its privacy documentation. Feedback form responses are separate and are not erased by account deletion. To ask us to locate and remove a form response, use the support form and provide enough non-sensitive detail, such as the approximate submission date. Do not send a password.

Contact and changes

For privacy requests or questions, use RoadMirror support. We will update this page before introducing a new data use, such as purchases or additional analytics. This website is served by Firebase Hosting and the feedback form is served by Google Forms; those services may process ordinary web request data under their own terms.
